Sorry, I haven’t posted in a while, I was on vacation and had a lot going on with the end of the school year. My second book review is going to be about The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. This is a book about a girl named Liesel Meminger. She is a foster girl who lives just outside of Munich in Nazi Germany. After she has been there a while, her father teaches her how to read and write. Liesel then finds that she can’t resist books. With the help of her partner in crime Rudy, she steals books from wherever she can get her hands on them: Nazi book burnings, the mayor’s wife’s library. She reads them to herself, to the Jewish man hidden in her basement, and to neighbors during air raids. My mother had been trying to get me to read it for six months now, and then my friend told me that I should read it. As you can imagine, my friend’s opinion holds a lot of weight and that was the final straw. I finally read it. I would stay up until four in the morning reading this book. This book has a profanity factor of one or two. This book has a romance factor of zero. I hope you like it as much as I liked it.
