I have three different rating systems, so it is nice to know what they are for, and what they mean. The first system is your classic how was the book system. Only, instead of using the five star system, I use a “how many hours past midnight would I stay up reading the book” system. If I say that I would stay up until eight P.M., it was not a very good book. If I say I wouldn’t get any sleep, it was an awesome book. The next one is the profanity factor. If you have read your share of the teen fiction books as I have, you know it is hard to find completely clean books. So, I have created a system to tell you how much profanity is used in a book (it is mainly for the parents, as they are most of the time reluctant to expose their children to a bunch of profanity when they haven’t even graduated high school.) I use a rating out of five. A profanity factor of zero, means there is very little to no profanity used in this book. A profanity factor of five means that the characters curse like sailors. The final system I have is the romance factor. This is for those of us who do not appreciate reading books with tons of romance. Again, I use a system out of five. A romance factor of zero means there is little to no romance. A romance factor of five, means that there is tons of romance and that every where you look, someone in the book is probably kissing. I hope this helps when reading my posts.
